Course Description
: Electronic Navigation enables a prospective marine deck officer to operate electronic navigational instrument in order to plan and conduct a passage and determine position. It includes topics such as but not limited to the different electronic systems of position fixing, GPS, echo-sounders, Speed Log/Doppler Log and the steering and control systems. Students of this course are expected to undergo interactive discussions and practical demonstrations of the mentioned navigational equipment and devices. By the end of the course, written and practical assessments are conducted to ensure the attainment of the course outcomes.
